(“Services”), however accessed and/or used, that are operated by us, made available by us, or produced and maintained by Taro, Inc. (collectively “Taro” or “we”, “us”, or “our”). What Information Does Taro Collect and Store?

We collect two types of information – personal and non-personal – from you in conjunction with your use of the Services. Personal information is any information that can individually identify you and includes, among other things, your name, e-mail address, telephone number, postal address, credit card, billing and contact information. Personal information is information that you may supply to us such as when you place an order for food, complete a survey, set up an account on the Services, upload content, participate in a community, or provide your e-mail address. Non-personal information includes information that does not personally identify you, but it may include tracking and usage information about your location, demographics, use of the Services and the Internet.

Personal Information – How It Is Collected

You do not need to set up an account to view the Services, you can browse the Services without submitting your personal information to us. However, there are a number of circumstances in which you may supply us or our agents with your personal information. The following lists the most common ways in which we may collect your personal information.

Non-Personal Information

In addition, when you interact with the Services, we may collect certain information that does not identify you individually and our servers may automatically keep an activity log of your use of our Services (“Non-Personal Information”). Generally, we collect and store the following categories of Non-Personal Information:

  • Non-identifiable demographic data such as age, gender, and five-digit zip code as part of collecting personal information

  • Device information about your computer, browser, mobile device, or other device that you use to access the Services. This information may include IP address, geolocation information, unique device identifiers, browser type, browser language, and other transactional information.

Collection of Your Source IP Address/Location Information

We will collect and store location information about you on the Services and associated with your account that you volunteer on the Services or enable through the Services or your device. We will not collect any location information that you do not volunteer or enable. We will delete any location information that you request is deleted. We do collect and store your device’s source IP address which may disclose the location of your device at the time you access the Services.

Collection of Personal Information From Third Party Sources Integrated with the Platform

Account Registration and Social Media Plug-Ins: When you create an account or interact with or share in connection with a social media platform, such as Google+,Facebook,Twitter,LinkedIn, Tumblr,WhatsApp and Pinterest,we may collect the personal information that you make available to us on that page or account including your account ID or “handle.” Customers should click on the hyperlinks to review the applicable privacy policies for more detail about the data collection and use practices of these platforms.

Payment Processing Information.Taro does not itself store debit or credit card information on its servers. Taro utilizes a third party payment processor, Stripe, to manage and process payments in order to guarantee the security of your information. Image Upload: Taro utilizes Cloudinary, a cloud-based image platform, to enable our Customers to upload images onto the Platform. Users should reviewCloudinary's Privacy Policyfor more information on their data collection and use practices.

Managed Email Services: Taro utilizes MailChimpto assist in customizing its email marketing campaigns to its customers and MailGunto send, receive and track Platform related emails. Users should review the hyperlink privacy policies for more information about their data collection and use practices.

Third Party Web Services: Information is stored by Taro on cloud servers maintained by Amazon Web Services and Herokuand utilizes Digital Ocean to facilitate its cloud hosting services. Customers should click on the hyperlinks of those third party services for more information about their data collection and privacy policies.

Customer Support:FreshDesksoftware is utilized to enhance Taro’s customer support and related services. Customers should review FreshDesk’s hyperlink for more information about their data collection and privacy policies.

Algolia Search API: Taro utilizes Algolia to provide better search options within the Platform. Information is collected and used by Algolia in accordance with the Algolia's Privacy Policy

SMS Notifications: Taro utilizes Twilio to enable SMS order and delivery related notifications to its Customers. Data is collected by Twilio in accordance with Twilio's Privacy Policy.

Abuse Prevention: Taro uses reCapcha, a service from Google, to protect the Site from spam and abuse. Customers should review reCapcha’s Privacy Policy through Googlefor more information. Communications are encrypted pursuant to a Cloudflare, Inc. generated SSL certificate.

Analytics.Taro utilizes the following third party analytics services to help improve our Services:

  • Google Analytics: Google Analytics is used to access anonymous data to help us understand how users engage with our Site, so that we can review and improve our Services. Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It provides a report with website trends without identifying individual visitors. Site usage is tracked using Google Analytics in accordance with their Privacy Policy. However, if you do not want your data to be used by Google Analytics, you may opt-out by installing Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

  • Raygun:Raygunis utilized by Taro for error tracking and real user monitoring software to identify problems affecting its Platform.

  • ProfitWell:ProfitWellenables Taro to track its subscription-based growth and observe trends regarding new customers, terminated subscriptions, upgrades.

  • Intecom:Intercom, Inc. a third party analytics service, is utilized to help us understand your use of our Services and to communicate with you by sending you service-related notifications. Information is collected pursuant to Intercom's Privacy Policy.

  • Segment:Segment collects general user data and reports on the aggregate response rate and other aggregate measures of the Service’s use and performance. All User data is anonymized and no personally identifying information is revealed to Segment. Information is collected pursuant to Segment's Privacy Policy.

  • MixPanel: MixPanel utilizes cookies and web beacons to track customer usage. For more information on MixPanel’s data collection and use practices, see the MixPanel Privacy Policy. You can opt-out of MixPanel’s automatic retention of data collected by clicking here: MixPanel Opt-Out.If you get a new computer, install a new browser, erase or otherwise alter your browser's cookie file (including upgrading certain browsers) you may also clear the MixPanel opt-out cookie.

  • Hotjar: In addition to analytics, Hotjarmay also use other technologies with similar functionality to cookies, such as web beacons and tracking URLs to obtain Log Data about users. It may also use web beacons and tracking URLs in our messages to you to determine whether you have opened a certain message or accessed a certain link. Hotjar collects information in accordance with its Hotjar Privacy Policy. To disable Hotjar so that it does not collect your data, follow the instructions on Hotjar's Opt-Out Page.

  • Full Story: Full story records user sessions on their website, enabling meaningful insight into their users' experience, as an effective way to identify usability problems and other areas for improvement. Information is collected and used by Full Story in accordance Full Story Privacy Policy and its Acceptable Use Policy. If you wish to prevent all websites using the FullStory Services to be able to record activity, you can  opt-outof the FullStory Services. Opting out will create a cookie that tells FullStory to turn off recording on any site which uses the FullStory Services. The presence of this cookie is required to continue opting out, so if you clear your browser cookies, you will have to opt out.

  • UseFomo:UseFomo is utilized for social proof marketing. Users should review they UseFomo hyperlink for more information about its data collection and use practices.

  • Tapfiliate:Tapfiliateis a cloud based affiliate tracking software that allows Taro to create, track and optimize its own affiliate based programs. Users should click on the hyperlink to review its data collection and opt-out options.

Collection of Personal and Non-Personal Information From Other Sources

We also may collect and store information about you that we receive from other sources (including by us from our offline interactions with you) to, among other things, enable us to update and correct the information contained in our database and to better customize your experience on the Services


Collection of Personal and Non-Personal Information Through Surveys and Promotions

From time to time we may provide you with the opportunity to participate in sweepstakes or other promotions on our Services, which might be sponsored or conducted by a third party. If you participate, we will request certain personally information from you. Participation in these sweepstakes and promotions are completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this personal information. The requested personal information typically includes contact information. If there is a third-party sponsor involved, please make sure to review that party’s privacy policy.

Collection of Third Party Personal Information Through Tell-A-Friend Feature

We may from time to time conduct a referral service to introduce people you know to Services. If you choose to use our referral service to tell someone about our Services or a discount on the Services, we will ask you for your contact’s name and email address. We will automatically send your contact a one-time email inviting him or her to visit our Website. Taro stores this information for the purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Use of Cookies, Flash Cookies, Web Storage, and Web Beacons

Like many websites, we use “cookies”, which are small text files that are stored on your computer or equipment when you visit certain online pages that record your preferences and actions. Taro may work with a variety of advertisers, advertising networks, advertising servers and analytics companies. These parties use various technologies, and technologies form third-party companies, to collect data in order to send and serve relevant advertising to users. These technologies may include the placement of cookies or Web beacons, the use of HTML5 LocalStorage, the use of unique or non-unique non-personal identifiers and other technologies. These technologies may be used to track user behavior and serve you more relevant advertising.

This relevant advertising may appear on our Websites, Services or other Websites that you visit. This privacy policy does not cover the use of various technologies by advertisers, advertising networks, advertising servers, and analytics companies. These companies may also obtain information from services you use from other companies, including without limitation, other Websites, mobile Website, mobile downloadable applications, and downloadable applications, and combine that information with information they obtain through these third-party technologies on our Services.

You should be aware that Taro does not have control over these third-party technologies or the information contained in them. You should be aware that if you choose to opt out through other sites, this does not opt you out of being served advertising. The ads will just not be targeted to you by any party from which you have opted out. You can also opt out of future information collection from our Services by ceasing use of the Services or in the case of a mobile application, uninstalling the mobile application.

Is Personal Information Collected From Children?

Taro does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age you should not provide personally identifiable information to Taro without providing us with consent from your parents or legal guardians.

If you discover that a child under the age of 13 has provided Taro with personally identifiable information without parental consent, immediately contact Taro at [email protected]and Taro will immediately delete that child’s information from the Services. If Taro discovers that a child under the age of 13 has provided Taro with personally identifiable information and we do not have parental consent, Taro will immediately delete that child’s information from the Services.

How Do We Use Your Information?

We use the information we learn from you to help us personalize and continually improve your experience on the Services. We may use your Personal and Non-Personal Information in the following ways:

General Uses

  • Upload your content, whether menus, meal requests, photos or otherwise, to our Services as you request

  • Permit you to update, edit, and manage your content on our Services

Who Do We Provide Your Information To?

Except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy, we do not disclose information about your Personal Information collected online to any companies not part of Taro or its parent, subsidiaries or related entities. In no event will we sell or rent your Personal Information as part of a customer list or similar transaction.

Business Partners and Third Parties

We may share your Personal Information with our business partners or co-marketers from time to time. We may also share your Personal Information with third parties that provide products and services that We think you may be interested in. Although our treatment of your Personal Information is governed by this Privacy Policy, the business partner or third party’s treatment of your Personal Information will be governed by the business partner or third party’s privacy policy. You may withdraw your consent to our sharing of your Personal Information with business partners and third parties at any time by following the opt-out process described below.

Third-Party Agents

We have third party agents, subsidiaries, affiliates and partners that perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, billing, push notifications, storage, bandwidth, content management tools, analytics, customer service, fraud protection, etc. These entities have access to the Personal Information needed to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of that Personal Information. They are restricted from using, selling, distributing or altering this data in any way other than to provide the requested services to the Services.

Emergency Situations

We may also use or disclose Personal Information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to applicable law or comply with legal process served on us or the Services; (b) protect and defend our rights or property, the Services or our other users, and (c) act under emergency circumstances to protect the personal safety of us, our affiliates, agents, or the users of the Services or the public. Taro E-mail Communications

E-mail communications from us or through us are designed to make your Taro experience more efficient. By participating in the Services, you specifically agree to accept and consent to receiving e-mail communications from us or through us, which include, without limitation: message notification e-mails, e-mails informing you about the Meals that you have ordered, the delivery status of the Meals or any other related information pertaining to your order, or promotions we run and emails informing you of new and existing features we provide. If you wish to not receive any promotional emails from Taro please email [email protected]or click the unsubscribe button.

You may not be able to unsubscribe from receiving essential Service-related and account-related information emails from Taro. If you do wish to unsubscribe from such emails from Taro, please send your request to [email protected]with subject line: “Unsubscribe from Taro Transactional Emails.” Please note that unsubscribing from such emails will impact your enjoyment of Taro Platform, Services and App.

How Do I Opt-Out or Correct Information About Me?

You may always opt-out of receiving future e-mail messages and newsletters from Taro. We provide you with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us by going into your profile settings and choosing the appropriate options. To opt-out, you can also send us a message at [email protected]. Please note, however, that you generally cannot opt-out of service related announcements, e.g. if the Services are temporarily suspended or if delivery of a product or Services is delayed.

What Steps Are Taken To Keep Personal Information Secure?

We are concerned about ensuring the security of your Personal Information. We exercise great care in providing secure transmission of your information from your device to our servers. Personal Information collected by our Service are stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we disclose your Personal Information to you. Please understand, however, that while we try our best to safeguard your Personal Information once we receive it, no transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

Following termination or deactivation of your account, Taro, its affiliates, or its service providers may retain information (including your profile information) and user content for a commercially reasonable time for backup, archival, and/or audit purposes. What Happens When I Link To or From Another Website?

These Services may contain links to other Websites operated by third parties. Please be advised that the practices described in this Privacy Policy for Taro do not apply to information gathered through these other Websites. We are not responsible for the actions and privacy policies of third parties and other Websites.

Governing Law

The Services are made available in the United States. We use commercially reasonable efforts to protect the Personal Information of all users of our Services and comply with local data protection and consumer rights laws to the extent they may apply to the Taro services, but our Services are located and targeted to persons in the United States and our policies are directed at compliance with those laws. If you are uncertain whether this privacy policy conflicts with the applicable local privacy laws where you are located, you should not submit your Personal Information to Taro.

Changes to This Policy

As our Services develop, we may add new services and features to our Services. In the event that these additions affect our Privacy Policy, this policy will be updated and we will post those changes prominently so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose it to anyone. We do recommend that you read this Privacy Policy frequently when you use our Services in case you missed our notice of changes to the Privacy Policy.  Be advised, however, that we will not materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of Personal Information we have previously collected from you without your express consent.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 provides that users of Taro who are California residents to request certain information regarding its disclosure of their personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. These Services will respect your browser’s Do Not Track signals (or other well-established, commercially available mechanisms that provide you with the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of Personal Information). If we receive a Do Not Track notice, we will stop using any Personal Information for online behavioral advertising purposes.


In the event we change our ownership or corporate organization while providing the Services or sell certain assets associated with the Services please be aware that in such event we may transfer some or all of your information to that company acquiring all or part of our assets or to another company with which we have merged.
